Rally To The Crown

Please join us for the first running of the Rally to the Crown sailboat race, 21st – 23rd July 2023.

It’s a fun, family-friendly distance race across Mass Bay, with an optional return race.

The innovative race format will feature separate start/finish lines in Marblehead and Hingham, converging on a single start/finish in Provincetown.  Each boat’s performance will be adjusted for ORR-EZ rating, currents and wind at the time she races the course.

There will be two Classes: Spinnaker and Jib and Main, each with divisions for family entries.

Boats may start any time from Friday, 21st July at 0700.  On the return, boats may start any time from 0800 hours Sunday, 23rd July.

There will be a barbecue 1800-2000 hours on Saturday, 22nd July and a grab-n-go breakfast 0630-0800 hours Sunday, both at the Crown and Anchor

The sponsors are the Crown and Anchor, Provincetown Yacht Club, and Landfall Navigation.

All net proceeds will be paid to the Center for Coastal Studies, in support of its research and rescue operations.

If you are interested in the race, you could sail to Marblehead or Hingham, and pick up a visiting mariner mooring at one of the yacht clubs. The event web site, including food reservations, is Rally to the Crown  .
